Cameron Did It!!!

Cameron has been wanting a bike pretty bad and so we thought this would be a great opportunity to teach him about money. He had to earn it! He had to do extra jobs...not his chores like make his bed and pick up his toys. We told him if he could earn $5 towards his bike then we would pay the rest. He was so excited and worked really hard. For each job he did he would get a quarter. He had to do 20 jobs. Everyday he would ask if he could do a job... I think he had a great time doing it too.

Here are some jobs he did:

He cleaned and vacuumed out the van
picked up all the sticks from the trees dad pruned
He fed Grandpa Roland's horses while he was on vacation (Grandpa gave him an extra quarter too)
He washed windows, baseboards, and doors
He worked outside with dad on a lot of jobs

It took him about a month to earn his money... then we went and picked out his bike at the store. He wanted one just like his cousin James and couldn't wait to tell him that they had matching bikes. When we got to the cashier he proudly handed his jar of quarters to her and had a grin from ear to ear.Dad bought the boys honkers for their bikes...they were so excited they honked them all the way out to the car and lets just say I'm glad they will be outside.Buddies
Brigham upgraded to Cameron's old bike with a new honker...it is too big so it rolls under the handle bar...but I don't think he minds.
