Lesson Learned

So last Sunday after we got home from church Cameron was playing around and stuck the hole of the measuring cup on his middle finger, like a ring. He thought it was pretty cool...until he couldn't get it off. It was getting cold, purple and pretty swollen, I was nervous we would have a real problem. We tried for 45 min until dad got home and cut it off with his trusty tools. Cameron thought his dad was his hero! The best part of it all was when he told the home teachers about the whole experience. This is what he said:

"We tried warm water and soap and that didn't work...
"We tried tons of lotion and that didn't work....
"We tried Olive Oil and that didn't work..
"We said a prayer and that didn't work...
"And then Dad came home and cut if off!"
We died laughing and had to tell Cameron that his prayer was answered by dad coming home. It was great...except his poor swollen finger.
So Cameron says he'll never put a measuring cup on his finger again...lesson learned!

I'll have to remember that when I let the boys cook. No sticking fingers in the holes on the end of the measuring cups. Hooray for Daddy's trusty tools!
